Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 specifications revealed in benchmark

by on07 July 2017

Snapdragon 835 SoC and 6GB of RAM

Xiaomi's successor of the game-changing Mi Mix smartphone has been rumored for quite a while but the latest benchmark results revealed a bit more details, including the Snapdragon 835 chipset and 6GB of RAM.

Back in March, Xiaomi's founder and CEO, Lei Jun, already teased that the company aims to bring a truly bezel-less smartphone with the next version of the Mi Mix, targeting the 93 percent screen-to-body ratio. Rumors pointed out that the Mi Mix 2 could end up with a 6.4-inch AMOLED 2540x1440 resolution screen.

An earlier listing on the Gearbest.com site also suggested that the new Mi Mix 2 smartphone will come in three versions, 4GB+128GB, 6GB+128GB, and 8GB+256GB as well as pack a 19-megapixel rear and 13-megapixel front cameras, and a 4,500mAh battery.

The latest listing in the GFXBench benchmark pretty much confirmed the Snapdragon 835 SoC and 6GB of RAM, which is not a big surprise since Xiaomi already used the same chipset in its latest Mi 6 and Mi 6 Plus flagships. The listing also confirms that it will run on the latest Android Nougat 7.1.1 OS. The device, only listed as the Xiaomi Mix, scored 1929 in single-core and 6431 in multi-core score benchmarks.

Unfortunately, there are still no details on when the new Mi Mix 2 will launch and the best guess is that it could launch with the next Mi Note 3 flagship, sometime in Q3 2017.
