GTX 560 reportedly coming on May 17

by on25 April 2011

Spec remains unclear
According to EXPreview, Nvidia is planning to introduce the mainstream GTX 560 sans Titanium moniker on May 17.

However, the specs are still not clear, but rumour has it that it will be based on the GF114 core with 336 CUDA cores, 56 texture units and 32 ROPs. The card should end up clocked upwards of 800MHz and it should 1GB of GDDR5 memory. Of course, these figures should be taken with a grain of salt.

There is still no word on price, either. The plain GTX 560 will clearly end up somewhat cheaper than the Titanium version, which currently retails between €180 and €200 in most EU markets. It sounds like a proper replacement for the ageing GTX 460 in this particular market segment and it have to face off against AMD’s HD 6870, which sells for about €150.
