Farming it out to Game Trading Technologies

7-Eleven will take a stab at entering the used video game market space with a new program that the company is launching in conjunction with partner, Game Trading Technologies. GTT will be providing titles that will be sold in bins that will be entitled “Great Games Under $20” that will be in 3,000 stores.

GTT hopes to have the program running in 7-Eleven stores by September and is hopeful that they can offer a wide selection of titles at attractive prices to customers. The company believes that since 60% of households have a video game system, this program can be quite successful, as it provides titles in a convenient location at reasonable prices. It remains to be seen how many people will actually purchase titles as an impulse buy at 7-Eleven.
