Decent fps with a sub €150 card

If you’ve
been wondering whether your graphics card will be able to take the new Aliens vs Predator game, wonder no more. The guys from LegitReviews used Radeon HD 5870, Radeon HD 5750 in Crossfire and Sapphire’s VaporX Radeon HD 5750.

Naturally, the HD 5870 easily ran the game with max settings, whereas Sapphire’s Radeon HD 5750 VaporX had a little trouble and had to be tweaked a bit more in order to churn out an enjoyable framerate.

The good news is that it’s possible to get a nice frame rate on Sapphire’s HD 5750 without sacrificing too much of eye-candy. With tweaked settings and at 1280x1024, Sapphire HD 5750 Vapor-X scores 60 frames per second, which is pretty good for a a sub €150 card. Naturally, you can always revert to DX9 which should make the game perform better, but where’s the fun in that?

You can find the benchmark here.
