Windows Phone 8 gets Skype
Brings a few new features
Windows Phone 8 is getting its first taste of Skype, as of Monday,
Microsoft claims Skype for WP 8 brings a range of new features and it does seem to be vastly superior to Skype on WP 7.5.
Skype can now run in the background, so users won’t miss a message while playing around with other apps. Also, Skype contacts are now visible in People Hub, making everything a little more straightforward.
Hardware requirements are minimal. Skype for WP 8 requires 512MB of RAM, which is a non-issue on WP 8 devices. It can work on 3G, but Microsoft still recommends wifi.
