Fileplanet subscribers only able to sign up

In a new
twist in the way that future Beta tests might be run for the Xbox 360, Fileplanet started inviting subscribers to the chance to apply to be beta mules for Bizarre Creations’ upcoming title, Blur. While the invitations that were sent out by Fileplanet did not offer any information on what the title was to start with beyond saying that it was, “exclusive access into a highly classified Xbox 360 event,” as we know from previous statements that a multiplayer beta for Blur would take place prior to the title’s release date.

In the Blur multiplayer beta (which will start today), as part of getting into the beta players have to agree to take a pre-survey and a post-survey about Blur and their experiences and feelings before and after the beta. While no knows exactly how long the multiplayer beta for Blur will last, we suspect that it will not be more than a couple of weeks, as Blur is still currently slated for launch on May 1st for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and the PC platform. Our sources tell us that this exclusive early access via Fileplanet is only part of the company’s beta plans, as a more open and public beta test of Blur is also planned.

In order to get into the Blur multiplayer Beta for Xbox 360, as we told you, you will need a Fileplanet subscription and, of course, be an Xbox Live Gold member in order to have a chance to get into the beta. A Fileplanet subscription will set you back a few dollars with subscriptions starting at $6.95 per month, but you can get a better deal if you get a subscription for the entire year.

Fileplanet is no stranger in hosting exclusive beta events. The site has worked with game publishers for a long time and been involved in a number of beta events. While they are a bit new in getting involved in passing out the codes for Xbox 360 beta events, it could be a sign of what is to come.
