Yup, he is single

Trade-in site SellCell has identified the world’s worst Apple fanboy after quizzing nearly a thousand contestants.

Single dad David Freeman (pictured) from Kansas has been named the ultimate Apple fan –  and he does admit to being “a little obsessed”

Freeman is a software engineer who owns over 100 Apple products and takes ‘religious holidays’ from work to watch launches and company announcements. Every room inside his home is painted in the bright colours of the early Apple logo.

He said that as a child, he wrote fan mail to Apple founder Steve Jobs and had a framed photograph of a Macbook Pro on his bedroom wall.

His daughter is named his daughter Lisa and is named after an early Apple computer.

One of his most prized possessions is a piece of Steve Jobs’s iconic black sweater which we hope was not torn from Jobs’ back in religious frenzy and a pair of glasses made by Job’s optician.

Surprisingly the 29-year-old is single and admits it is hard to find a partner who is content to coming second to Apple in his life.

Freeman said: “It is completely surreal. I never expected to win when I entered this contest. I know I’m a huge fan, but I assumed there were other people out there who were even bigger fans than me. Now that I see everything written down, though it does start to seem like maybe I’m just a little obsessed.

“I’m extremely proud and humbled to bring the title to Apple’s home country. A lifetime of being called an “Apple Sheep” has finally paid off.

“Apple is so much more than just a company to me. It is a community and an ecosystem that touches so many aspects of my life. Every time Tim Cook steps out on stage to unveil a new product feels like Christmas morning.

“Even my coworkers know that I take Apple Keynote days off as a “Religious Holiday” so I can take all the time I need to fully appreciate everything that was announced and quickly order any new products.”

He said his family didn’t totally understand his Apple obsession but most of his friends were also Apple fans (or at least say they are).

“One of my best friends lives on the opposite side of the world, in Perth, Australia. We met on the Apple subreddit several years ago and went on to start “The Blue Bubble Podcast" which ran for over five and a half years before we had to take a break earlier this year due to family obligations. It was through that podcast that I was able to further connect with several people in the tech space that I once admired from afar and now have the privilege of calling friends.

He won an Apple Watch prize. He added: “You’d think a person who already owns over 100 different Apple products couldn’t possibly be excited to get another one, but I always am. Not only as something practical that I will get use out of but also for what it symbolises. It will be an honour to wear it and I’ll surely brag about it to anyone I can get to listen.”

So no change there then.
