With new MACH.2 and HAMR technologies

Seagate has officially announced its newest Exos 14 HDD at the OCP summit, a helium filled 14TB HDD aimed at the enterprise market, which uses new MACH.2 Multi Actuator and HAMR technologies, allowing it to hit a record 480MB/s sustained throughput.

8TB for business critical servers and shared storage systems

Toshiba America Electronic Components has announced volume availability of its next MG Series HDD – the MG05ACA800 – providing 8TB for business critical servers and shared storage systems.

Will co-exist with SSD, like ebony and ivory 

Seagate might have been pushing into the solid state drive (SSD) market with shedloads of acquisitions or strategic alliances with SSD partners, but that does not mean that HDs are a thing of the past.

As well as a 5TB 2.5-inch BarraCuda HDD

Seagate has unveiled an addition to its FireCuda hybrid HDD lineup, the 2.5-inch 2TB FireCuda, as well as a  5TB 2.5-inch mobile HDD which will be a part of its BarraCuda lineup.

3.5-inch helium filled HDDs for datacenters

Seagate has announced that it has finally started to ship its 10TB enterprise-class helium-filled HDDs.

Available later this month for $349

On Wednesday, Seagate announced Innov8, the world’s first power adapter-less USB 3.1 Type-C external hard drive for desktops. The drive is available in an 8TB storage capacity and does not require any power cable to operate, using only a single USB Type-C connector as a source of both power and data.

8TB drives at the ready

After a series of unfortunate rankings among its peers in HDD production space, Seagate is turning to humongous drive capacity. 8TB drives sampling to key clients today, slated for wide availability later this year.

Seagate's Biggest desktop drive 

Back in December Seagate announced what it dubbed the biggest desktop hard drive to date.  The Seagate Archive HDD v2 8TB is bigger than the competition and it doesn’t cost arm or leg.
