Intel roadmap: Core 2 Duo E2160 and E2140

Intel plans to reveal two new Core 2 Duo based CPUs just days before Computex. Intel plans to introduce these two new CPUs on the 3rd of June.

The faster one, called E2160, is clocked at 1.8 GHz with 800 MHz FSB and a total of 1 MB of cache memory. This CPU will be introduced for under $100 or $84 to be more precise.

The E2140 is the slower part, running at 1.6 GHZ with the same 800 MHz FSB and 1 MB of cache. Both CPUs are basically Core 2 Duo parts with 1 MB cache memory. Dual core marchitecture is really becoming dirt cheap, whether you want it or not.
