by on06 November 2019

Minor changes and with Google services

Xiaomi has announced the Mi Note 10, which will be nothing but the previously announced Mi CC9 Pro, but for markets outside of China, with only slight changes in the price as well as having Google services included.

The Xiaomi Mi Note 10 is likely to have a big impact on the smartphone market as, despite its mid-range specifications, it has managed to get on the DxOMark throne with its rear penta camera with main 108-megapixel sensor and the 7P lens (8P lens for the Mi Note 10 Pro).

In case you missed it back when Mi CC9 Pro was announced, the Mi Note 10 and the Mi Note 10 Pro, which is the CC9 Pro Premium Edition, measures 157.8x74.2x9.7 mm and weighs 208g. The phone has glass on its front and back (Gorilla Glass 5) and an aluminum frame, so even its build quality comes out of the mid-range bracket.

Large Arc AMOLED screen and Qualcomm's 8nm Snapdragon 730G SoC

It has a 6.47-inch Arc AMOLED screen with a center placed notch and tight bezels. The screen has an FHD+ 2340x1080 resolution, has 600nits maximum brightness and support for HDR10. This adds up to around 400ppi of pixel density and has about 88 percent screen-to-body ratio.

The Mi Note 10/Note 10 Pro runs on Snapdragon 730G SoC, which has an octa-core CPU part with a two-core Kryo 470 Gold cluster (2.2GHz) and six-core Kryo 470 Silver cluster (1.8GHz), as well as an Adreno 618 GPU.

The SoC is paired up with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, and apparently, there won't be an 8GB/256GB version, at least not in Europe and not in the near future. Of course, there is the Mi Note 10 Pro version with an 8GB/256GB configuration.

The rest of the specifications include the usual connectivity options, including dual-band 802.11ac WiFi, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, and even an IR blaster. It uses a USB 2.0 Type-C connector and comes with an optical under-display fingerprint reader. Xiaomi equipped the Mi Note 10 with a hefty 5260mAh battery and a good 30W charger, which is likely to get it to full power in just over an hour.

The phone runs on MIUI 11 with Android 9 Pie OS.

The penta camera is a clear winner

The new penta camera system has the Mi CC9 Pro Premium Edition to the DxOMark throne, with an overall score of 121. Bear in mind that the Mi CC9 Pro Premium Edition is the same as the Mi Note 10 Pro, which has an 8P lens on top of the 108-megapixel main sensor. The standard Mi Note 10 has a 7P lens. The main 108-megapixel sensor is Samsung's 1/1.33" ISOCELL Bright HMX one, the same one we have seen on Mi Mix Alpha.

In addition to the 108MP main sensor, you also get a 12-megapixel sensor with telephoto f/2.0 aperture 50mm lens, and a 5-megapixel one, also with f/2.0 aperture.- These two will be used for portraits, according to Xiaomi, and both have 2x and 5x optical zoom, PDAF, laser AF, and the 5-megapixel one also has OIS, same as the main 108-megapixel one.

There is also a 20-megapixel sensor with a 13mm ultra-wide angle f/2.2 lens with laser AF, and a dedicated 2-megapixel sensor behind an f/2.4 lens for macro shots.

The camera system also comes with quad-LED dual-tone flash, will offer up to 50x zoom, and has dual OIS, and dedicated Night mode 2.0, and ShootSteady video mode.

The front camera is a 32-megapixel one with an f/2.0 aperture.
