The price of having Snapdragon 835 SoC

Sony's latest flagship, the Xperia XZ Premium, will apparently start shipping in Europe as of June 1st.

The O2 carrier in Germany told members of the press that the Xperia XZ Premium, one that comes with a 5.5-inch 3840x2160 HDR10 display, Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 835 SoC and fancy new Motion Eye 19-megapixel rear camera, will ship on June 1st.

According to GSMArena.com, the same date was also given by Amazon in the UK as well so it appears that this will be the case across all of Europe. We have spotted Xperia XZ Premium listings in Europe a while back, which put it in the same range as the LG G6 at €749.

It is possible that this is the price to pay for all smartphone makers which decided to go with the freshest Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC, due to Samsung's deal with Qualcomm.

LG is one of the makers that went with "older" Snapdragon 821 for its LG G6 smartphone and has become available on most carriers as of April 24th, which means it will have more than month advantage over the rest of the competition.

With various problems plaguing the new Samsung Galaxy S8 smartphone, it appears that LG might have pulled the right move this time but until numbers tally in, we might not get a clear picture.
