Pushing the limits further

Xiaomi already made a big splash with its concept Mi Mix smartphone that has been selling like hotcakes, but according to the latest information, it appears that the company is already working on a successor that could push the envelope even further.

According to a recent post on Weibo made by Xiaomi's CEO, Lei Jun, the company will be once again working with French designer Philppe Starck, and try to introduce a smartphone that will push the screen to body ratio even further. The original Xiaomi Mi Mix was already impressive with 91.3 percent ratio but 93 percent is what the company is now aiming at.

While there are no details on when the successor will be launched or what kind of hardware will power the smartphone, it is possible that the company is waiting for LG and Apple to release their new flagships in order to see what the competition has in store.

Hopefully, the next Mi Mix will bring other novelties as the original certainly pushed the boundaries with custom edge-to-edge screen, ceramic casing, bottom-placed speaker and front camera, a piezoelectric ceramic driver for the earpiece and an ultrasonic proximity sensor.
