LG to launch V20 in September

Android 7.0 Nougat and Snapdragon 821

LG has confirmed that the successor to the V10 called the V20 will launch in September with Android Nougat 7.0. This is, most likely,  one more Snapdragon 821 design win.

LG hasn’t really had a huge success with its LG G5 phone, despite the fact that this was one of the most innovative products on the market. The Snapdragon 820 based phone supports accessories such as camera plus and HiFi plus, but it lost the battle with Samsung's Galaxy S7 and S7 edge that were simply selling better.

LG hopes to change that with the  V20 phone and our sources are telling us that this could well be a Snapdragon 821 phone. The difference between Snapdragon 820 and 821 is about a 10 percent faster GPU and CPU while the rest of the SoC is mostly the same.

This might be the first phone to ship natively with Android 7.0 and it is expected in September, probably first in Korea  and then in other countries. Samsung is about to launch the Galaxy Note 7 today and this is the phone that will directly compete with the LG V20.

LG also confirmed that it signed a cross licensing agreement with Google that might result in future Nexus phones beyond Nexus 4, Nexus 5, Nexus of 5X and this partnership is solid until 2023.

LG Electronic's CEO promises that the V20 is expected to set new standards in premium phones with richer multimedia. And it helps that it will launch with Android 7.0 too.
