LG G3 getting Android 5.0 in South Korea

by on27 November 2014

A sign of things to come

According to a report over at Chiphell.com, some users are claiming that the LG G3 has been getting the Android 5.0 Lollipop update, at least in South Korea. While LG already promised that the LG G3 smartphone will get the Android 5.0 update in Q4 2014, it appears that it might be getting it sooner than expected.

While South Korea is usually the region that gets LG smartphones before any other region, it is no wonder that the Android 5.0 Lollipop update for LG G3 flagship smartphone will roll out there first. With the update ready for South Korea version, it is just a matter of time before the international version of the LG G3 gets the same update.

Of course, the update will roll out gradually and heavily depend on the region, but those that are waiting for it will be glad to know that it also brings a slight performance increase for the LG G3, and will hopefully get rid of the laggy experience that we have seen on the LG G3.

Hopefully, other of older LG smartphones like the LG G2 and G Flex, will not wait too long to get the Android 5.0 Lollipop update as well.
