Windows Phone 8 quad-core beast

The rumors regarding Nokia's quad-core Windows Phone 8 smartphone have been around for quite some time and recent changelog posted on Nokia's servers indicates that the Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 is the chipset of choice.

The changelog includes terms quad_core, adreno_300, qualcomm_snapdragon_s4_msm8274 and qualcomm_snapdragon_s4_msm8974 which proves that we might see a Snapdragon 800 chipset in Nokia WP8 smartphone pretty soon. In case you missed it earlier, the MSM8274 is a Snapdragon 800 chipset that features four Krait 400 CPU cores clocked at up to 2.3GHz and paried up with Adreno 330 graphics. The MSM8974 is pretty much the same chip but with support for LTE-Advanced, CDMA and Chinese TD-SCDMA.

There are no additional information regarding the Snapdragon 800 equipped smartphone but the best guess is that we will be looking at a new flagship with 1080p screen.

In addition to the Snapdragon 800 chip, recent rumors also point out to a quad-core Nokia device that will be powered by a Snapdragon 400, a quad Cortex A7 based device.
