by on06 December 2017

Thunderbolt 3 and wider GPU support

Powercolor has unveiled its second external graphics card enclosure that will connect to notebooks or other systems via a Thunderbolt 3 port, the Powercolor Gaming Station.

Featuring pretty much the same specifications as the earlier launched Devil Box, the new Gaming Station measures at 343.2x163x245mm and features a Thunderbolt 3 40Gbps port for connection, Gigabit Ethernet, and five USB 3.0 Type-A ports - two in the front and three in the rear.

It also comes with a 550W 80Plus Gold SFX power supply and supports up to 375W graphics card with 310x157x46mm dimensions in its single PCI-Express x16 slot.

As far as we can see from Powercolor's official product page for the Gaming Station, it has  somewhat wider graphics card support which includes AMD Radeon RX 500 series, RX 400 series, R9 Fury, R9 Nano, R9 300 series, R9 290X, R9 290 and R9 285 graphics cards as well as Nvidia GTX 10 series graphics cards, including the GTX 1080 Ti, GTX Titan X, Titan Xp, entire Geforce 900 series, GTX 750 and 750 Ti as well as some Nvidia Quadro graphics cards.

Unfortunately, Powercolor did not reveal any details regarding the price or the availability date but we guess it should be available soon.
