EVGA shows new GTX 980 Hydro Copper at CES 2015

Now with AiO hybrid liquid+air cooler

In addition to the Geforce GTX 980 Classified K|NGP|N Edition, EVGA showed off the new GTX 980 Hydro Copper graphics card at CES 2015 in Las Vegas.

While EVGA's Hydro Copper Edition graphics cards were usually based on a full-cover liquid cooling block which was meant to be connected to a custom liquid cooling system, the new EVGA GTX 980 Hydro Copper takes a bit of a different approach, as it is equipped with its own closed-loop hybrid liquid+air cooling system, which comes with a GPU block connected to a 120mm radiator, metal base plate which should draw the heat from memory and VRM parts to the GPU block and a standard blower style fan, which should help in cooling the base plate.

While EVGA did not reveal much information regarding the cooler, this one looks like an Asetek design and will make the EVGA GTX 980 Hydro Copper quite similar to AMD's reference Radeon R9 295X2 graphics card.

While EVGA did not reveal precise specifications, the company did note that we will be looking at a decent factory-overclock.

Hopefully, EVGA will soon officially announce the Geforce GTX 980 Hydro Copper graphics card so we will have a bit more details.
