It's been a while since HP officially announced its HP Slate 500 tablet and it looks like that it is finally shipping to those that have pre-ordered it on launch day.

In case you somehow missed this one, the HP's Slate 500 is a US $800 8.9-inch tablet featuring Intel's Atom Z540 clocked at 1.86GHz, 2GB of memory, 64GB SSD and Broadcom's Crystal HD chip in order to deal with 1080p videos, two cams (front VGA and 3MP on the back), and Windows 7 Professional OS.

According to some users at Tabletpcreview forums, some of them have already recieved the shipment notification reports and might get their hands on the Slate pretty soon.
