Fiorina dubs Tim Cook a gay rights hypocrite

Do dirty deeds but shut up about it

A former HP boss, and presidential wanna be took time out from attacking Hilary Clinton to have a pop at Apple CEO Tim Cook.

In a brave move, which will automatically upset the Tame Apple Press, CarlyFiorina called Cook a hypocrite over his stance on gay rights at Apple.

She sort of has a point too. In an interview on with the Wall Street Journal, Fiorina argued that Cook was guilty of "a level of hypocrisy here that really is unfortunate" for criticizing Indiana and Arkansas over their Religious Freedom Restoration Acts while at the same time doing business in countries where gay rights are non-existent.

"Apple won't go to Indiana, but they will go to Saudi Arabia," she said.

Fiorina said: "When Tim Cook is upset about all the places that he does business because of the way they treat gays and women, he needs to withdraw from 90% of the markets that he's in, including China and Saudi Arabia.

"But I don't hear him being upset about that."

Of course HP is in a similar boat in that regard as it also has done business in countries which don't like women or gay people much. The only difference is that HP never said a word about it publically.

In other words you are OK in Fiorina's eyes of you put business above your conscious and never say a word about what is going on in your own backyard.  Sure save money by outsourcing and firing staff, but don't ever publically complain about other companies doing the same thing.
