MSI has announced two new GX-series gaming notebooks, namely the GX 620 and the GX 720. Both models are based on Intel's Centrino 2 platform and will feature a wide choice of Intel Core 2 Duo processors paired up with Intel's PM45 chipset and Nvidia's Geforce 9600M GT discrete graphics card with 512MB of GDDR3 memory.

The GX 620 will feature a 15.4-inch TFT display, while the GX 720 will have a larger 17-inch display. Other specs are basically the same for both models, such as up to 4GB of memory, a choice of hard drives of up to 320GB, a DVD Super-Multi or Blu-ray optical drive. Other features include a 2MP Web Cam, Gigabit LAN, Bluetooth 2.0, 802.11/b/g/n WiFi, HDMI and Windows Vista Home Premium.

The only other difference between these two models is the built-in speakers, as GX 720 has more space to accommodate four speakers and a sub woofer, while the GX 620 is limited to 2 speakers. The availability date hasn't been announced as yet and pricing will vary depending on the configuration.
