Benq rolls out 4K/UHD monitor with 100% sRGB coverage

by on05 November 2014

For designers rather than gamers

Benq has introduced a new 27-inch UHD monitor based on an IPS panel, but it’s not meant for gamers.

The BL2711U is aimed at professional users who will know how to take advantage of its 10-bit panel, which boasts 100% sRGB colour gamut coverage. Benq says the panel can deliver more than a billion different hues. The panel is rated at 300cd/m2, it has a 1000:1 contrast ratio and the response time is 12ms (4ms GtG), just in case you are ever tempted to try out a game or two. However, there is no word on the refresh rate.

The monitor features a swivel mount, which is not uncommon in 4K/UHD monitors (even those with no professional aspirations). The monitor can also be tilted and the height is adjustable. At the back you’ll find a standard array of connectors, DVI-D, DisplayPort 1.2, HDMI 1.4 and HDMI 2.0. There is also a quad USB 3.0 hub and two 3W speakers.

Sadly, Benq has not revealed the price just yet, but don’t expect it to come cheap. Although we are looking at a mere 27-incher, professional panels tend to end up pricey in any resolution.
