Mordor used Kinect resources to improve frame rate

by on03 October 2014

Some are saying the Xbox One version is still slower

Monolith, the developer of Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor, says that it used the additional resources freed up by Kinect to improve the performance of the Xbox One version of the game to improve the frame rate.

Designer Bob Roberts revealed that the extra 10% of power unlocked in the development kit by Microsoft did improve the game’s frame rate on the Xbox One. Still confusion does remain on the details between the Xbox One version of the game and the PlayStation 4 version of the game.

Although not confirmed as of yet some are saying that the Xbox One version is running at 900p locked at max of 30fps, while the PlayStation 4 version is running at 1080p with the frame rate unlocked. So Monolith is not confirming or denying this is the case.
