360 Holiday bundles confirmed

by on15 September 2014

Three options to choose from this year

So you don’t have an Xbox 360 or you would like to replace your older Xbox 360, well this year’s Microsoft’s holiday bundles offer a number options for you to do so.

Microsoft has confirmed three holiday bundles this year with the big news being that two of them will include the new 500GB hard drive which is a step up from the previous 320GB model which was the largest drive you could get previously. The additional storage is nice to download all of those free Games with Gold titles that Microsoft has been giving away to 360 owners that are Xbox Live Gold subscribers.

The Xbox 360 500GB Holiday Value Bundle includes the latest Xbox 360 E with Call of Duty: Ghosts and Call of Duty: Black Ops II. You also get the console itself in black, 500GB hard drive, a wireless black controller, wired headset, and one month of Xbox Live Gold. It should be pointed out that both Call of Duty: Ghosts and Call of Duty: Black Ops II come as downloadable codes, so you will need an Internet connection of course to download these. All of this for only $249.

The second bundle is a Walmart exclusive. The Xbox 360 500GB Special Edition Blue Bundle is basically the same thing that the Xbox 360 500GB Holiday Value Bundle is except that it includes a special “blue” colored console and wireless controller. The Xbox 360 500GB Special Edition Blue Bundle is the same price as the regular Xbox 360 500GB Holiday Value Bundle at $249. If you like the artic blue color, then this is the bundle for you.

The third bundle is the Xbox 360 4GB Kinect Bundle that includes three games. The bundle includes the Xbox 360 console in black with 4GB of flash storage with no hard drive, black wireless controller, wired headset, Kinect sensor, 1 month of Xbox Live Gold, Forza Horizon, Kinect Adventures, and Kinect Sports. Like the Holiday Value Bundle, Forza Horizon, Kinect Adventures, and Kinect Sports are included as download codes, so you will need an Internet connection to download your free games and of course the storage space to do so. With all three games downloaded, we suspect you will be looking to add a hard drive soon, but there are a number of options both new and used to do this at a reasonable price.

We are hearing rumors that Microsoft is planning some sort of a bundle for the Xbox One, but we expect that we will hear about that in the October time frame. Microsoft will hope that the Xbox One bundle will help sales this holiday season, but don’t look for them to give away the store.
