World of Tanks 360 to finally exit beta

by on05 February 2014

The battle will start for real on February 12th

After quite a long open Beta for World of Tanks on the Xbox 360, the free-to-play title will finally enter release so everyone can play starting on February 12th.

The Xbox 360 version of the Wargaming classic was done by the studio formerly known as Day 1 Studios, who now are known as Wargaming West. Day 1 Studios was best known for the MechAssault title that was published by Microsoft.

While the Xbox 360 version of World of Tanks is a free-to-play title, that only holds true if you happen to be an Xbox Live Gold subscriber. Otherwise, you get a 7-day trial to check out the game and see if you want to purchase an Xbox Live Gold subscription.

Besides the fact that you have to be an Xbox Live Gold subscriber, the game is full of micro transactions for premiums, consumables, and a premium account which increase experience points and help you get currency faster. While you can play without buying anything and enjoy the game, fans will likely take the plunge and spend money.

While the initial launch of the 360 version will offer more than 100 tanks, we are told that more tanks and other content are coming at a later date.
