3.5-inch screen and single-core 1GHz CPU

HTC has now officially updated its Desire lineup with the new budget-friendly HTC Desire 200 smartphone. Featuring a 3.5-inch screen and Qualcomm's Snapdragon S1 chipset with single-core 1GHz CPU, the HTC Desire 200 will definitely be the cheapest HTC Desire offering.

The new Desire 200 has 107.7 x 60.8 x 11.9mm dimensions, 100g weight and features a 3.5-inch LCD 480x320 display. The heart of it is the Qualcomm's Snapdragon S1 chipset with single-core 1GHz CPU and 512GB of RAM. It will be available with 4GB of internal storage expandable by microSD card slot.

The new Desire 200 has a 5-megapixel rear camera, 1230mAh battery, 802.11bgn, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and all the usual connectivity options that you would expect to find on a budget smartphone. It also comes with proximity, ambient light and accelerometer sensors and features HTC's Beats Audio music enhancement.

Unfortunately, HTC did not reveal which Android version is behind the Sense UI skin and still did not shed any light regarding the price or the actual availability date for the new HTC Desire 200.
