EA shuts down Partners label

by on26 April 2013

More people lose jobs as part of restructure

Electronic Arts has apparently decided to shut down its Partners label. Before this news gets you all out of joint, apparently Fuse and the upcoming release from Respawn will not be affected by the decision. EA is just apparently not taking on any new studios as part of the Partners program.

In addition to shutting down the Partners label, more layoffs were the order of business today, as a number of studios (as well as the company at the corporate level) experienced more layoffs. The company has declined to comment about their restructuring activities, but we suspect they will wait till the restructuring is completed before they will have any official comment.

If we don’t hear anything officially sooner, you can expect that when EA talks about its fiscal numbers on May 7th that they will issue some sort of official comment.
