Affordable FX-Series quad-core

In addition to recent price cuts across its CPU and APU range, including AMD A-Series APUs, FX-Series CPUs and Phenom II CPUs, AMD has also introduced a new "affordable" quad-core FX-4130 socket AM3+ CPU.

The new SKU, as a part of the FX-Series lineup, is a 32nm CPU based on the Bulldozer architecture and features four cores (two modules) with 4MB of L3 cache and an integrated DDR3 memory controller. It works at 3.8GHz base and 3.9GHz Turbo Core clock and features AMD-V virtualization, SSE4, AES and AVX instructions and has a 125W TDP. Since we are talking about FX-Series CPU it comes with an unlocked multiplier.

The new FX-4130 is introduced to fit between the FX-4100 and the FX-4170 with price set at US $112. The new FX-4130 should start to appear in retail/e-tail as of today and some European stores have already published some listings with a price set at around €103.
