Frostbite 2 powered and coming in October

Danger Close’s next Medal of Honor title has been deep in development for some time, as we have told you previously. Only now has it been revealed that the new game will be titled Medal of Honor: Warfighter. The news comes a little ahead of an intended marketing push that Electronic Arts has coming up next month.

After the cat was let out of the bag, so to speak, the Medal of Honor blog confirmed the name of the game and said that more details were coming in the weeks ahead. That has not stopped us from being able to pry at least a few things out of our sources.

Warfighter is being exclusively developed by Danger Close, and unlike the last version, DICE’s involvement is limited to a supporting role on the engine only. As you can guess, this means that Warfighter will be powered by the DICE developed Frostbite 2 engine. Danger Close will be handling both the single player and multiplayer this time around.

As to how this info apparently began leaking out ahead of EA’s schedule, the word is that Medal of Honor: Warfighter is featured in the upcoming OXM; and someone spilled the beans, so to speak, ahead of the magazine hitting the streets.
